Comedy fundraiser to support families of officers with cancer
The Blue Line Comedy fundraiser will take place on Friday, June 7, at the Turtle Creek Golf Course to support the families of two local police officers battling cancer. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.

The event will feature performances by comedians Kevin Downey Jr., John Mulrooney, and Larry DiGregorio. An appetizer buffet will be available, and there will be a cash bar, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing.

Admission is $20, and all proceeds will go directly to the officers’ families. Tickets can be purchased by calling 845-863-7417 or emailing pobenjamin@plattekillpd.org.
The Turtle Creek Golf Course is located at 219 Plattekill Ardonia Rd., Wallkill.

Celebrate Smokey’s 80th Birthday at the Pine Bush library
Smokey Bear and his friends from the Pine Bush Fire Department will visit the Pine Bush Library on Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Have you photo taken with Smokey, read books and have fun, and remember, “only you can prevent forest fires.”

Maybrook UMC to serve ham & strawberry dinner

The Maybrook United Methodist Church will serve its traditional ham & strawberry dinner on Saturday, June 8, 5-7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person, with kids under age 3 served for free.

Reformed Church of Shawangunk to Host Children’s Day Festival

The Reformed Church of Shawangunk will host a Children’s Day Festival on Sunday, June 9. The festivities will begin with a Children’s Worship Service at 10 a.m., followed by a variety of activities starting at 11 a.m.

The event, held at 1166 Hoagerburgh Rd in Wallkill, will feature a barbecue, bounce house, games, and more. Families in the community are invited to join in the fun and celebrate the day dedicated to children.

Maybrook to host family movie night

On Friday, June 14th the Village of Maybrook will be hosting our first of two-Family Movie Nights at the Frederick Myers Veterans Memorial Park.

The featured movie is “Wonka” a 2023 musical fantasy film. It tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, a character in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, depicting his early days as a chocolatier, and serves as a prequel to the first film based on Dahl’s novel, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.[6] The film stars Timothée Chalamet as the title character, with an ensemble cast including Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant.

Residents are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and spend a family evening in the park.

Maybrook VFW to host Father’s Day Dinner Dance
The Maybrook VFW will host a Father’s Day Dinner Dance on Saturday, June 15, 6 to 10 p.m.

The event will feature music by DJ Kenny Lewis and a shrimp scampi meal. Dad is entitled to one free drink.
Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Pine Bush Library offers Point Insurance Reduction Class

Motorists in Pine Bush and surrounding areas are encouraged to register for the Point Insurance Reduction Class offered by Pine Bush Library Community Center.

Participants stand to benefit from significant savings on vehicle insurance premiums and potential reductions in driving record points. By completing the course, drivers can save 10% on their vehicle liability, collision, and personal injury protection (PIP) insurance premiums for THREE YEARS. Additionally, they may qualify to reduce up to FOUR POINTS on their driving records.

The class will commence promptly on June 22, from 9 am to 3 pm at Pine Bush Library Community Center located at 227 Maple Ave. Registration is preferred and can be completed by contacting the Pine Bush Library at (845) 744-4265 ext. 2 or Michael Sweeting at (845) 407-1378 or (845) 920-0120.

The registration fees are as follows:
• Seniors 60+: $30 (Cash)

• Adults 18-59: $40 (Cash)
