Designer Bag Bingo to Benefit Local Veterans
The Ladies of Rolling Thunder NY Chapter 3 will host a Designer Bag Bingo event on Sunday, June 30, to raise funds for local veterans.
The event will take place at the New Paltz Elks Lodge #2568, located at 290 State Route 32 South, New Paltz Doors will open at 1 p.m., with bingo calling starting at 2 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $45 and can be reserved by contacting Samantha at 845-260-8220.

Highland Public Library to Host Summer Reading Program Kick-Off

The Highland Public Library is set to kick off its Summer Reading Program with an exciting event themed “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” The program launch will feature Robinson’s Wildlife World of Animals, showcasing a variety of birds of prey and reptiles.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 27, at 4 p.m. at the Highland Public Library, located at 14 Elting Place, Highland. Children and families are invited to join this educational and thrilling experience. To attend, registration is required and can be completed at highlandlibrary.libcal.com.

The Highland Public Library encourages families to participate in the Summer Reading Program, which will continue with various activities and reading challenges designed to keep children engaged throughout the summer.

Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Parade

recognizes top participants
The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Parade, held on June 22 in Saugerties, celebrated the dedication and spirit of local fire departments with a series of awards recognizing standout participants. The event featured a variety of categories highlighting the best in apparatus, units, and auxiliary groups.

Local winners included the following :
• Best Appearing Antique Apparatus: Marlboro
• Best Appearing Firematic Color Guard (2nd Place): Plattekill

Additionally, the Mardi Gras Parade on June 21 awarded First Place Funniest Float to Plattekill Fire Department.

Shades & Shadows to Host Fundraiser for Humane Society
Shades & Shadows will present the 3rd annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Walden on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thomas Felten Community Park on Route 32 in Plattekill.

The event will feature a variety of talented vendors offering handmade items such as crocheted goods, garden decorations, clothing, tumblers, woodwork, and jewelry. Additionally, attendees can enjoy services such as reiki, tarot readings, and henna body art. For more details, visit the event page on Facebook at @ShellieShadesandShadows.
Admission to the event is a tangible or monetary donation for the cats and dogs in need at the shelter. The most needed items include:
