Plattekill Veterans Committee to host luncheon
The Plattekill Veterans Committee, in collaboration with the Ulster County Veterans Services Agency, will host a veterans luncheon on Saturday, July 20, from noon to 3 p.m. The event will take place at the Clintondale Christian Church Community Hall, located at 302 Crescent Ave.
All veterans are invited to join the luncheon for an afternoon of camaraderie and appreciation.

Plattekill Library hosts Veterans Events

The Plattekill Public Library, in collaboration with Vet2Vet of Ulster County and the Hudson Valley Center for Veteran Reintegration (HVNCVR), will host two events aimed at supporting veterans.
On Monday, July 22, at 1 p.m., veterans will be reading stories, and there will be toy and book giveaways. The event, presented by Vet2Vet of Ulster County, will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
Additionally, the library will hold a Veterans Coffee Hour every other Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event is organized to provide a safe and welcoming space for veterans to connect, share experiences, learn about available services, and find support. No registration is required.

New Paltz Repair Cafe is July 27
The New Paltz Repair Cafe will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at the New Paltz United Methodist Church, located at 1 Grove Street.
The Repair Cafe initiative, which originated in Amsterdam in 2009, was introduced to New Paltz by volunteer organizer John Wackman in 2013. His initiative has since inspired similar events across various communities. The Repair Cafe of the Hudson Valley & Catskills, comprised of local organizers, promotes repair efforts within their respective towns.

Summer LEGO Club at Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library

The Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library is hosting a Summer LEGO Club for children ages 5 and up. The club will meet on Mondays from July 8 to August 19, from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.
Participants can enjoy individual and group building activities, challenges, and games. Weekly displays of LEGO masterpieces will be featured at the library, located at 56-58 Main Street.

Highland United FC Announces Fall Soccer Program
Highland United FC is excited to present its Fall Soccer program for 2024, catering to youth ages 2 to 11. The program will run on select Saturdays in September, October, and November.

The schedule includes various age groups and times:
• Toddler Group (ages 2-4): 9 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
• Prep for Rec U6: 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
• U12: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
• U8: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• U10: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sessions will be held on the following dates: September 7, September 14, September 21, September 28, October 5, October 19, October 26, and November 2.
The Toddler Group and U6 sessions will take place at Highland Middle School (HMS) Field, located at 71 Main Street. The U8, U10, and U12 sessions will be held at Town Field, 39 Main Street.

Hallock Free Library introduces nature exploration backpacks

The Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library will offer Nature Exploration Backpacks, made possible by a grant from the Adirondack Mid-Hudson Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
