Crawford concerts begin July 5
The Town of Crawford Summer Concert Series, presented by the Town of Crawford and the Pine Bush Area Arts Council, will kick off on July 5 with Midnight Slim and LaurieAnne, offering a mix of Classic Rock, Country, and Blues.
The series continues every Friday evening at the Crawford Commons Gazebo, 65 Main Street, featuring diverse musical acts:
• July 12: Little Sparrow - American
• July 19: Breakneck Annie - Americana and Folk

• July 26: Tom and Tommy Brendel - Jazz Originals and Standards
• August 2: Oxford Station - Acoustic Rock and American
• August 9: Art Lillard Trio - Jazz, Swing, Blues, Latin, and Standards
• August 16: Madarka - Klezmer
• August 23: Bunker Boys - Bluegrass
Concerts start at 7 p.m. and run until dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the music. Entry is free for all.

Village of Walden hosting free summer concert series
The Village of Walden is hosting its annual Music in the Grove summer concert series at Wooster Memorial Grove Park, located at 89 East Main Street. The free concerts take place every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. through August 28.
The lineup includes:

• July 10: Axiom Project
• July 17: Home At Last, Mannafora
• July 24: Jazz Pioneers
• July 31: Rachel Leeya
• August 7: Black Dirt Bandits
• August 14: Hillbilly Parade
• August 21: The Feds
• August 28: Dan Brother Band
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, performances will be rescheduled for September.

Wallkill Public Library launches summer reading program

The Wallkill Public Library is gearing up for its annual Summer Reading Program, inviting children ages 12 and under to embark on an exciting literary journey. This year’s theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” promises a variety of engaging and adventurous activities designed to keep kids entertained and motivated to read throughout the summer.
The program runs through July 31, featuring a series of themed events and activities aimed at fostering a love for reading. To participate in these programs, parents and guardians can register their children by checking out the library’s event calendar at wallkillpubliclibrary.org
In addition to the scheduled programs, the library is also running a reading challenge to encourage continuous reading until August 27. Reading challenge packets and program brochures are available at the library and on the library’s website at wallkillpubliclibrary.org.

Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps hosts blood drive

The Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps will host a blood drive on Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their headquarters, located at 231 First Street, Wallkill.
All donors will receive a free Fandango movie ticket for the upcoming film “Twisters,” which hits theaters on July 19. Donors will also receive a Twisters and Red Cross umbrella, while supplies last.
The event is in collaboration with the Red Cross to encourage blood donations and support the community.

Shades & Shadows to host fundraiser for Humane Society
Shades & Shadows will present the 3rd annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Walden on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thomas Felten Community Park on Route 32 in Plattekill.

The event will feature a variety of talented vendors offering handmade items such as crocheted goods, garden decorations, clothing, tumblers, woodwork, and jewelry. Additionally, attendees can enjoy services such as reiki, tarot readings, and henna body art. For more details, visit the event page on Facebook at @ShellieShadesandShadows.

Gardiner Parks & Recreation presents free concert
Gardiner Parks & Recreation will host a free concert featuring The Broken Heartstrings at Majestic Park on Thursday, July 11, at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and wear their dancing shoes for an evening of live music. The event will take place at Majestic Park on Murphy Lane in Gardiner.
