Basil Metz was Highland’s top finisher on Wednesday in a 20-39 win over the Rondout Valley Ganders at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton.

The Highland girls’ team fell to the Ganders, 21-34.
The Wallkill Panthers and Marlboro Iron Dukes also competed with the Panthers winning, 17-42, in the boys’ race and 15-50 in the girls’ race.

Wallkill’s Nathaniel Diemoz was the overall winner in the boys’ race with a time of 17:48.80, and Caitlyn Murphy was the overall winner in the girls’ race with a time of 20:09.12.

Highland’s Cameron Adoma, Zachary Haeser, Alexander Weiss and Maddox Thibault-Edmonds also scored for the Huskies.

Owen Shaffer Sermini was the top finisher for the Ganders.

Marlboro’s Robert Jackson, III was 10th and Jordan Reyes finished 15th. Christopher Yeaple finished 23rd. Aydyn Sanchez was 26th and Hunter Sanchez took 35th.

In the girls’ race, Alexandra Carey led Highland with a 23:11.76 finish, while Hannah Capin was the top finisher for the Ganders In 22:41.93.

Violet Brienza, Abigail Redner, Scarlett Lovell and Kryle Klein also scored for Highland.

Marlboro’s Andrea Kuha took 18th with a time of 28:12.47 and Kaylee Dina was 21st.
