Bryce Hollo tripled twice and scored both runs in the Chapel Field baseball team’s 2-0 win over Section 11 champion Bridgehampton Killer Bees in Saturday’s New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D regional championship at Lorenz Field in Saugerties.

Hollo scored on Logan Garvey’s infield single and on a sacrifice fly by Mikey Bonagura.

That was more than enough for Lions’ pitcher Leam Powell, who threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts.

The win sends the Section 9 champion Lions back to the state Final Four for the second straight year where they will face Deposit-Hancock, which beat the Lions in last year’s state championship game, at 5 p.m. Friday at SUNY Broome.

The winner will play for the state championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. against the winner of the other semifinal between Section 10 champion Paishkville and Section 5 Northstar Christian Academy.
