Cynthia Hand elected president of Women’s Bar Association

J&G Law, LLP (J&G) is pleased to announce that on June 14, 2023, Cynthia J. Hand, Esq., an associate concentrating in estate planning, was installed as President of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties. Rebecca C. Johnson, Esq., an associate concentrating in matrimonial law, transitions from President to Immediate Past President.

The law firm would also like to congratulate summer intern Isabelle Hayes for receiving the Susan B. Keiser Memorial Scholarship presented by the WBAOSC Foundation.

The Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (“WBAOSC”) is one of twenty chapters of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY), an organization with over 4,000 members. The mission of WBAOSC is to promote the advancement of the status of women in society and of women in the legal profession.

Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a major in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2006 from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut, where she was a member of the Tax Law Society and concentrated in Federal Taxation. Cynthia is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding New Lawyer Award from WBAOSC and the Junior League of Orange County Rising Star, also in 2022. Cynthia recently graduated from the Leadership Orange Class of 2023.

Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Stony Brook University Honors College in Stony Brook, New York in 2012. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2015 from Boston University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Rebecca is the recipient of the 2021 utstanding New Lawyer Award from WBAOSC.
