Diane Corrado turns 100

Posted
On Monday evening the Marlborough Town Board and Ulster County honored Diane Dee Corrado in recognition of turning 100 this year.

Ulster County Legislator Tom Corcoran presented Corrado with a Pride of Ulster County Award to mark this significant milestone. He started with a little history lesson, pointing out that in July 1923 the Hollywoodland sign (original name) went up and in August of that same year, the first electric traffic light was invented, “but on June 6, 1923 Diane Dee Corrado was born. So she out-dates both of those items and pretty much everybody in this room.”

Corcoran said, “on a personal level, Dee has been family to us for a long time. We’ve been at family and community functions and she is a pleasure to be around always. You’ve never complained to me, you’ve always been pleasant and thoughtful and always been loving, and for that I thank you for always being a part of our life. Forty years ago when we met who knew that we would be here today. Best wishes on your 100th birthday and we wish you 100 more. God bless you, we love you.”

Supervisor Scott Corcoran told Corrado, “we all love you, we all appreciate what you’ve done and what you’re continuing to do.” He presented Corrado with a Pride of Marlborough Commendation, “congratulating you on your 100th birthday and many more.”

Corrado urged everyone, “to love one another, the greatest thing in your whole life, and thank you for honoring me today.”
