Montgomery Free Library News
“Adventure Begins at Your Library,” a summer reading program for students in grades 1-6, will be held on Wednesday nights from 6-7 p.m. on the library lawn. This free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Montgomery Library, encourages reading and fun activities. Register as soon as possible to receive a bag of goodies and instructions. Please bring a book to the first meeting. The dates are July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

For children ages 3-5, a program will be held on Saturdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the library. Each session will include a story, craft, and a small surprise. The dates are July 6, 13, 20, and 27. Space is limited. Teen volunteers are needed, providing a great opportunity for scouts and high school students needing community service hours.

Montgomery Senior Center Events
Book Club: Join us on July 17 at 10 a.m. to discuss “Olive Kitteridge” and “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” by Carson McCullers. All are welcome! Growing up, many of us enjoyed relaxing in hammocks with the latest Nancy Drew mysteries, fostering a lifelong love of reading.

Senior Center Picnic Lunch: Enjoy sandwiches, salads, chips, and desserts on Tuesday, July 9 at 12 p.m. at 36 Bridge St. The cost is $7 per person. Space is limited, with priority for Montgomery residents. Contact the Senior Center to sign up.

NYC Lunch & Sightseeing Cruise: Join us on Thursday, July 18, for a two-hour cruise. The cost is $90 per person. The bus departs from the Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. Montgomery residents have priority. Call (845) 457-9367 for details.

Yankees vs. Mets Game: Catch the game on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets and transportation are $100 per person.

Oktoberfest Wedding of Freida & Fritz Show: This fun trip takes place on Thursday, October 24 at the Riverview Inn for $50 per person.

Summer Concert Series The Village of Montgomery
Summer Concert Series returns! Concerts will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Downtown Bandstand on Clinton Street. On July 11, enjoy the Hurley Mountain Band. Bring your chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes. Please clean up after yourself, or support local businesses by purchasing snacks.

Community Blood Drive
The Knights of Columbus 2270 are sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, July 12, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holy Name of Mary - Assumption Church Hall, 89 Union St., Montgomery. Blood donors are urgently needed! For more information, call NYBC at (800) 933-2566.
The Great Bible Journey

From July 15-18, Faith Baptist Church at 34 East Searsville Rd. will host The Great Bible Journey for children ages 2-12.

This free vacation Bible school event includes prizes, games, snacks, and more. It runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Register online at faithnewyork.com.

Montgomery Town Hall Hours
Town Hall is open Monday-Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. It will be closed on July 4-5 for Independence Day.

E-ZPass On-the-Go is available at the Town Clerk’s office for $25. Cash or checks are accepted.

Orange County Mobile DMV Unit
The DMV Unit will be at the Montgomery Senior Center on Friday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.) offering registration, license transactions, and more.

Annual Veterans Village Car Show
The Osborn-Fitzsimmons American Legion Post 521 will host the Annual Veterans Village Car Show on Sunday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Register by noon for $20. Trophies will be awarded.
