The Port Jervis Raiders won their fifth straight Section 9 championship when they beat the Marlboro football team, 37-7, on Saturday in the Section 9 Class B championship game at James I. O’Neill High School in Highland Falls.
The Raiders opened a 16-0 lead over the Iron Dukes before Marlboro scored a late touchdown, to pull to within 16-7 at halftime.
The Raiders added three more touchdowns in the second half to run away with the victory, securing the first five-peat in school history.
The Iron Dukes finished the season with a 7-2 record, while the 8-2 Raiders will move on to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B quarterfinals against Section 1 champion Rye on Saturday at Goshen High School.
