Expos beaten in championship

The 16U Marlboro Expos were the last local team standing in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League tournament play, but suffered a defeat in the championship game, 6-5, to the top-seeded TEB Eagles on Saturday at Rogers Park in Danbury.

The 10U Marlboro Marlins were eliminated from the Division 3 Silver bracket in the semifinals, and the 14U Marlboro Wildcats were eliminated in the Division 3 quarterfinals.

Marlboro Marlins 10, Stamford White 0

The Marlboro Marlins limited the Stamford White to four hits in a shutout win on July 31 in Stamford, Conn.

The Marlins scored two runs in the first, three each in the third and fourth innings, and another two runs in the sixth. They had seven hits.

Semifinals
East Fishkill Patriots 3, Marlboro Marlins 1
The Marlboro Marlins struck first but the East Fishkill Patriots struck last in a semifinal victory on Thursday in Hopewell Junction.

The Marlins outhit the Patriots, 6-5.

14U D3 Championship First Round
Marlboro Wildcats 7, N.Y. Knights 1
Liam Correa had two hits, including a double and three RBIs, leading the Marlboro Wildcats to a first-round win over the N.Y. Knights on July 30 at Marlboro High School.

Meyer Baker added three hits and three runs scored.

Quarterfinals
Northstar Naturals 13, Marlboro Wildcats 3
The Northstar Naturals White scored eight runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 10-run win over the third-seeded Marlboro Wildcats on July 31 in Marlboro, ending the team’s summer.

Liam Correa had two hits and an RBI and Shawn DeLaigle added two hits.

16U D3 Championship Finals

TEB Eagles White 6, Marlboro Expos 5
Cooper Vogel had three hits, a run scored and an RBI as the Marlboro Expos lost the championship game to the TEB Eagles White on Saturday at Rogers Park in Danbury, CT.

Conner Griffin had two hits, including a double and an RBI. Leland Dubois had a hit and an RBI.
