Please be aware of the heat coming from the pavement when you take your pet for a walk. If its too hot for you barefoot its too hot for them. Recently I was at a local 4th of July weekend festival and in 90 degree heat I saw a girl with her cat in her black pet backpack. Seriously people leave your furry friends at home.

The list of performers is out for the Village of Montgomery Summer Concert Series. The music takes place from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Bandstand on Clinton Street. Bring your chairs and blankets and dancing shoes. If you bring a snack please clean up after yourself or better yet purchase some goodies from local businesses. July 18 is Troubled Souls, July 25 is The Jon Bates Band.

We were shocked by the recent transfer of Reverend Matthew Reiman at St. Mary-Assumption parish. He will now be stationed at St. Francis of Assissi in West Nyack. We wish him luck with his new assignment. His enthusiasm and energy showed in all he accomplished in the parish and the cemetery in his short five years here.

He has been replaced by Reverend Ivan Lovric. Let’s give him a warm welcome.

The General Montgomery Day Committee is seeking a volunteer 8K Race Coordinator who will oversee all aspects of the race on General Montgomery Day. We have plenty of volunteers for the race, but need someone to coordinate the race. You can send an email to info@villageofmontgomery.org or call at 845-457-9661.
