Frederick C. Hammer, age 79 is a Vietnam vet who worked on the Martin CGM-13B Mace during the war.  After his active service he settled in Pine Bush. His civil career consisted of maintenance work at PFW a division of Hercules, Inc., Middletown.

Some of the fond memories of Fred, consisted of him coming home from work and him smelling like the current flavor they were working on that day. Fred was a man of many talents including carpentry, and wood working. He had a love of flying and he would take any opportunity to fly when offered. He had a passion for trains and many of his friends were geared around building train layouts. He was a New York Giants football and NASCAR fan leaving many fun and memorable moments around those sports. Fred will be remembered as a kind, generous, funny, supportive, amazing husband (late, Phyllis Hammer of 37 years) father and friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him. 

 Frederick C. Hammer is survived by his children, Michele St. Germain of California, Donald Hammer, New York, Tessa Ayden, California. Four stepchildren, William L. Shoemaker of Alaska, Guy D. Shoemaker of Texas, Wayne D. Shoemaker of New York, Carol M. Gannon of Arizona, , 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Amelia Hammer. 

Cremation was private. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11 a.m.at The  Cornerstone Church, Middletown. 65 Schutt Rd, Middletown 

The burial will take place at New Prospect Road Cemetery, New  Prospect Road, Pine Bush, Saturday March 4 at 2:30pm.
