Gunther Meyer, of Blooming Grove, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, June 29, 2024. He was 88.
Son of the late Wilhelmine Meyer, he was born June 10, 1936 in Bremen Germany.
Gunther was an operator and driver for Storm King Contracting, Maybrook. In earlier years he was a baker for Mardorf Bakery in Haverstraw, NY. In 1952 he immigrated from Germany to Canada. Later, in 1968 he and his wife came to the United States. He was a member of the Black Rock Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Family was always the center of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Renate M. Meyer; two daughters, Susan A. (George) Roben of the Town of Newburgh and Christina (Dr. Arthur) Klein of Cornwall; four grandchildren, Marissa Driver, Derek Roben, Lily Klein and Jacob Klein.
In addition to his mother he was predeceased by three brothers, Helmut Muller, Horste Muller and Hans Walter Muller.
Private Cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
Plans for a Celebration of Gunther’s Life will be announced at a later date.
