Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 24-year-old Highland man on Sept. 8 after responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on New Paltz Road in the Town of Lloyd at approximately 3:07 a.m.

The investigation revealed that an Order of Protection prohibited the man from being at the residence. During his arrest, the defendant physically resisted and intentionally damaged a sheriff’s patrol vehicle door by kicking it repeatedly.

He was charged with the felony of criminal mischief in the third degree, along with misdemeanors of resisting arrest, criminal contempt in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, and a violation of harassment in the second degree.

The defendant was arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Part of Ulster County and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lloyd Justice Court at a later date.
