Kingdom Hall will return

The Town of Newburgh Planning Board will need to review the project known as Kingdom Hall once again before making a State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) determination. Once that is determined, the planning board can schedule a public hearing for the project.

The planning board had previously declared itself as lead agency for the project located at 33 Little Britain Road. The current 6.8 acre parcel for the project features an old abandoned house and wooded areas. The proposed project, represented by the firm GPI (Greenman-Pedersen, Inc), seeks to construct a new single story, 4,992 square foot Kingdom Hall facility with a single access drive.

Comments prepared by MHE Engineering have noted that a Tree Preservation Plan was submitted to the town, comments from the highway superintendent on the project driveways should be received, a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan has been submitted and was under review; and town water and sewer notes should be added to the applicant’s plans. A 1,500 gallon septic tank was to be installed, regarding which GPI stated they would appear before the building department for further review and approval. The applicant will also need to review their proposed signage dimensions with the town building department prior to approval and to be compliant with the town code.
