Lenten worship series continues

The Reformed Churches of the Wallkill Valley are pleased to announce their upcoming Lenten worship series, celebrating their 85th year as a community. This year’s series will focus on the I AM statements of Jesus Christ, with each service exploring a different aspect of these powerful statements.

On March 5, the Shawangunk Reformed Church will host the service, with the Rev. Stan Seagren exploring the statement “I AM the Door.”

On March 12, the Wallkill Reformed Church will host the service, with the Rev. Gary Sissel exploring the statement “I AM the Good Shepherd.”

On March 19, the Gardiner Reformed Church will host the service, with the Rev. Howie Dalton exploring the statement “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life.”

Finally, on March 26, the Wallkill Reformed Church will host the service, with Pastor Cathy Bruce exploring the statement “I AM the Resurrection and the Life.”

In addition to the powerful worship services, the community will also come together for food and fellowship. Each Sunday service will be preceded by soup and sandwiches at 5 p.m. and the Ash Wednesday service will be followed by dessert and fellowship. Worship services will also be broadcast online, so that those who are unable to attend in person can still join in the celebration.

The offering for this year’s series will benefit Habitat for Humanity in Newburgh, continuing the community’s tradition of supporting the good work being done in the area. Please make checks payable to: Wallkill Valley Union Lenten Series.
