Living as good neighbors

Posted

In response to Marlborough Town Board Member Dave Zambito’s letter I would like to say I agree with many points, especially about his drive around Town and seeing so much blight and safety hazards.

That is why we have zoning and codes - to make sure we can all live together as good neighbors.

Many of the problems that Mr. Zambito mentions are things already controlled in our Town Code. These things should be handled by our Building Inspector and Court system. Mr. Zambito, like any good citizen, can file a complaint with the Building Department and the matter would be looked into and, hopefully, corrected. It would also alert the proper agencies if people need additional help in maintaining properties - there are grants available and other options.

Nobody likes to complain about neighbors but there are some bad actors who depend on good people to say nothing. If they were held accountable, perhaps Marlborough would be safer and a more pleasant place to be?
