'Mario Schifano: The Rise of the ‘60s' is the title of the exhibition organized by Magazzino Italian Art in collaboration with the Mario Schifano Archive, curated by Alberto Salvadori. It will open to the public on September 14th, coinciding with the inauguration of the Robert Olnick Pavilion in Cold Spring, New York. The exhibition presents 80 works from 1960 to 1970 by one of the most significant Italian artists of the second half of the 20th century. It includes a core of 12 paintings never before publicly exhibited, sourced from the Maurizio Calvesi and Augusta Monferini Foundation.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a volume titled Schifano: The Rise of the ‘60s, curated by Alberto Salvadori, with texts by Alberto Salvadori, Andrea Cortellessa, Claire Gilman, Daniela Lancioni, Francesco Guzzetti, Giorgia Gastaldon, Giuliana Bruno, Lara Conte, Luciano Chessa, Rapahel Rubinstein, Riccardo Venturi, Stefano Chiodi.
