Marlboro’s Juliana Juras broke not only a Marlboro High School discus record, but she also broke her favorite discus at the New York Relays on Friday at Icahn Stadium in New York.

Her throw of 129-111 was good enough to not only win the championship meet, but to break the school discus record, set in July by her teammate Victoria Maher (126-6.5).

Only a junior, it’s already the second time Juras has held the school discus record, as Maher broke a record she had set in late May.

It had been a good weekend overall for Juras, who, on Saturday, won both the shot put and the discus and won female field MVP honors at the Red Raider Relays.

The Dukes’ boys’ and girls’ track and field teams were both victorious earlier in the week with wins against the Highland Huskies at Marlboro High school.

Tyler Moulds won both hurdles events for the Iron Dukes in an 85-56 win. Drew Heimink also picked up wins in the long jump, triple jump and pole vault. Jose Iraola-Ceely won both throwing events. Colin Robertson won the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Daiven Leath picked up a win for the Huskies in the high jump. Cameron Adoma won the 800-meter run.

Juliana Juras led the girls’ team to wins in the throwing events. Fallon Grace won the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Abigail Bender won the 1,500 and 800-meter runs for the Huskies.
