Mike Fowler’s 1952 Dodge B Series Pick-up

I met up with Mike Fowler at a recent Saturday night car cruise held at the Bridgeview Plaza hosted by the Dutchess Cruisers. Mike Fowler, who’s a retired IBMer, has a love for classic trucks and pick-ups. He is the owner of a beautiful 1952 Dodge B series truck, model B2D. Mike has owned his Dodge truck since 1995. The truck sports a 230 Flathead engine with 85 horsepower. It has a manual floor shift transmission. The color of the Dodge is the original Dodge color code called Dark Green. It has 70,000 original miles. Mike told me that his truck was originally used for landscaping in New Jersey. After Mike got the truck, it took him several years to restore it to where it is today. The truck’s nickname is “The 52”. He values the Dodge at approximately $14,000 in today’s market. Mike said that the truck reminds him of when he was a child and his dad having a similar truck growing up. His first car was a 1953 Chevy, which his parents bought new before he was born. Mike still has it.

Mike belongs to the Antique Truck Club of America. He enjoys going to cruise nights and car shows to meet with friends and support local charities. I asked Mike who his favorite person was to cruise with, he told me his wife, Kathleen. Mike said he loves going to classic truck shows because they bring back a lot of great memories. I asked him what his dream car or truck was, he told me his 1952 Dodge truck.
