My opponent was a no-show

The following is a copy of a letter dated October 10, 2023 that I sent to New York State Assemblywoman (District 103) Sarahana Shrestha last year -- long before I even considered running against her.  The Assemblywoman never responded to me then or since.  On the day of our Chamber of Commerce debate just two weeks ago, a perfect opportunity to explain her position, she was a no-show and I ‘debated’ an empty chair.

Assemblywoman Shrestha has been Ulster County co-chair for the Mid Hudson Valley Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America and remains a member, and in the absence of renouncing their behaviors she clearly endorses, supports and even celebrates their violence.

I publicly request that she go on the record with her position on this issue.  I also ask every voter in the 103rd Assembly District to visit ‘Jack Hayes for the People’ on Facebook to learn my position; it’s clearly outlined, along with where I stand on such issues as ensuring parental rights, restoring energy independence, securing the border and restoring legal immigration, ending property tax at age 70, revoking cashless bond and fully funding law enforcement.

Return common sense leadership to the 103rd -  I humbly ask for your support at the polls.
