The Newburgh Enlarged City School District will dismiss students and staff 15 minutes early Friday, Oct. 9, as part of an Orange County early dismissal drill.
Students in pre-K through second grade and special education students must be met by a responsible person who is middle-school age or older when they are released from their school bus.
The district will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Schools and district offices will reopen Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Students will have a half-day Oct. 22, with staff participating in half-day professional development.
The district also will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 26-27 for Thanksgiving. There will be no school for students Nov. 25 because of morning parent-teacher conferences.
