PB boys and girls roll past Newburgh in track opener

The Pine Bush girls’ track and field team got off to a good start on Thursday with a 104-28 win over the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at Academy Field.

The boys’ beat the Goldbacks, 80-52.

Pine Bush opened the meet with a win in the 3,200-meter relay. They also took the 1,600-meter relay.

Zoe Rodi, Hannah Pawlowski, Tanayah Melvin, and Madison Williams each had two individual wins for Pine Bush.

Rodi won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while Pawlowski won the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs.

Pawlowski was also on the winning 3,200-meter relay team.

Melvin swept the throwing events with top finishes in the shot put and discus throw, while Williams won the long and triple jumps.

Mya Riquelme won the 100-meter hurdles, and Keyera Williams won the high jump. Ella Galloway won the pole vault.

The boys’ team swept the two hurdles’ events and swept all the field events.

The Bushmen also won the 3,200-meter relay, the 400-meter relay, and the 3,200-meter relay.
