The Pine Bush field hockey team opened its final week of the regular season with a 3-1 win over the Red Hook Raiders on October 10 at Pine Bush High School.

Pine Bush got goals from Kaily Fobert, Abigail Hansen and Kara Wittenberg. Grace Grant made eight saves, and Avery Rossello had 10.

Maddy Boyd scored the lone goal for the Raiders, and Anna Faraldi made four saves.

It was the first of three games the Bushmen played at home to end the regular season. The win also clinched them a .500 overall record, as the win broke the Bushmen’s three-game losing streak.

They opened the season on September 11 with a 9-0 loss to the Rondout Valley Ganders before winning the next five games, beating Ellenville, Pine Plains, Onteora, Ellenville and Our Lady of Lourdes.

Before facing Red Hook, the Bushmen hadn’t scored a goal since their September 28 win over Our Lady of Lourdes. During that stretch, they were beaten by Rondout Valley, Delaware Valley, and Kingston.

The Bushmen finished the regular season with a three-game winning streak, following the win over Red Hook with a 1-0 win over Taconic Hills on Thursday and a 4-0 win over Coxsackie-Athens on Saturday.
