Perfect Sweets off to a sweet start

Perfect Sweets recently celebrated its official grand opening on Grand Street with family and friends marking the new journey as a business. Perfect Sweets is owned by Hasina Grice, wife of Councilman Anthony Grice, who helped along with their son to serve sweets to a line of hungry customers. Cookies, teas and other baked goods all went home with satisfied customers.

Hasina’s journey to baking began with the famous Easybake Oven that she had received as a child, and her passion for baking was further supported by an educator while in high school. While she has prepared sweets and other desserts over the years for her family and friends, she began about a decade ago to sell her products from her home. Looking to expand her knowledge and skills, she attended the Culinary Institute of America and completed the AOS Baking & Pastry Arts Program. Now in 2023, she has decided to officially open her business and is supported by her husband and family in this new endeavor.

Councilman Grice extended thanks to the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Millz Wad Up Dough, fellow food trucks in the surrounding area and other small businesses that have collaborated with Perfect Sweets. Members in attendance for the grand opening of the new business included Mayor Torrance Harvey, Orange County Legislator Genesis Ramos and Councilwoman Giselle Martinez.

Representatives from Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson’s and Senator Rob Rolison’s offices presented certificates to congratulate the milestone for the Grices.

“We have been in business for five years and are proud of our expansion in having a food trailer. We pack the trailer to the fullest with delicious treats and consistently run out within four hours,” said Anthony Grice.
