Pine Bush groups spread Easter cheer

Posted

On Sunday April 10, families gathered at the field behind Pine Bush high school for a festive and fun-filled afternoon. The Pine Bush High School Interact Club, and the Town of Crawford Police Benevolent Association hosted the event, and families were treated with Easter baskets and baked goods. The field had Easter eggs in every direction, and kids had the chance to win a variety of prizes; from Amazon gift-cards to Easter baskets with treats and gifts, but everyone left with a goodie-bag as a souvenir and “thank you” from the 2 organizations that put this event on.

During the event, leaders from the PBA and Interactive Club were active all around the field, making sure everyone had a chance to experience the event fully.

“This is our first time partnering with the Pine Bush High School Interactive Club, and I hope it isn’t our last. It’s really nice that two groups found each other with the same goal, and that is to give back to the community,” said Town of Crawford PBA President Daniel Boyd.

Along with face painting and crafts, everyone had the chance to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Even though the weather wasn’t favorable, cupcakes and other treats were available to take everyone’s mind off the mud. This event hasn’t been held in two years due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, and organizers were surprised at the turnout.

“This year was our biggest turnout in all our years of doing this, and I think it’s because of the fact we haven’t had something like this in two years. We are extremely happy that we finally were able to pull it off. Overall it was a fantastic day, and we’re always happy to do things like this,” said High School Interact Club adviser Chrstina Tudisco.

The event was originally going to be held on Saturday April 9, but due to the weather it was rescheduled for Sunday April 10.

“We couldn’t be happier with how the day went. The weather can’t stop the fun, and we can’t wait for our future projects. Seeing the success of this really showed us how events like this are so important for the community,” said Pine Bush High School Senior and President of the Interactive Club Katherine Sassi.

A muddy football field was briefly transformed into Peter Cotton Tail’s backyard on Sunday afternoon, and residents of the Town of Crawford couldn’t be happier.
