Refunds available for Ulster County Pool Season Pass Holders

Posted

Due to the unanticipated closure of the Ulster County pool, season pass holders are eligible for a full refund. For more information about the refund process, please contact Jodi Corsa from the Department of Public Works (DPW) at (845) 340-3103.

This update follows the recent announcement from DPW that the Ulster County Pool, located at 241 Libertyville Road in New Paltz, will be closed for the season due to significant water loss. The cause of the water loss has been attributed to underground piping failures. Engineers have determined that major capital repairs will be needed, necessitating closure of the pool for the 2024 season.

A county representative said the county is working with other municipal pool programs to support accommodation of additional patrons this season. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

The County pool experienced a significant loss of water. DPW consulted with engineers and attempted multiple remedies to stem the water loss, including replacing valves, and working on the gutter system and gravity lines, but unfortunately, water loss continues. Due to these ongoing issues, the pool will remain closed for the entirety of the 2024 season.
