The Regional Food Bank has announced the addition of Felicia Kalan as Executive Vice President, Hudson Valley.

Kalan officially began her role on July 15. She is the former executive director of the Montgomery Industrial Development Agency, where she oversaw a wide variety of economic and community development projects in Orange County. Kalan has a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from HEC-Paris.

She and her family reside in Cornwall.

“The Regional Bank is excited to expand our team in the Hudson Valley to coincide with the development and opening of our new Distribution Center in Orange County, where we will help serve 175,000 neighbors in need in the region,” said Regional Food Bank CEO Tom Nardacci. “Felicia Kalan is the perfect person to help the Food Bank expand our presence in the region and stay connected to communities and stakeholders we work closely with to serve thousands of individuals and families.”

The Regional Food Bank currently manages its operations from distribution centers in Latham (Albany County) and Cornwall (Orange County). Kalan will oversee the transition of the Hudson Valley team to the new 50,000 square foot facility in Montgomery, which is scheduled to open this fall. The new Montgomery distribution center will serve Orange, Sullivan, Rockland, Ulster, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.

“I am deeply honored to join the Regional Food Bank team in addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity in the Hudson Valley,” said Kalan. “My goal is to leverage my experience and background to rally business leaders, government officials, community partners, and others in the Hudson Valley to address this growing epidemic in our communities. Our efforts will not only address food insecurity and food waste -- but generate over 30 quality jobs in Orange County while meeting growing needs.”

The Regional Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that collects donated food from the food industry and distributes it to more than 1000 partners feeding those in need in 23 counties of northeastern New York. The food provided by the Regional Food Bank helps to feed over 350,000 people each month.

In 2023, the Food Bank distributed 48 million pounds of food, enough for 40 million meals. The Regional Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, the national network of food banks. For more information about the Regional Food Bank visit regionalfoodbank.net.
