Albany Center Gallery presents "Bloom," featuring the work of 20 regional artists, with an Artists’ Reception Fri., Feb. 16, 5-8 pm. The show is open Tuesday through Saturday noon to 5 pm through March 15.
In each of Renee Samuels’ collages a photographic image sits in relation to an abstracted work, a poetic, simplified translation of the photo, something a person with no knowledge of abstract art could recognize as being based on the photo. Understanding a bit about abstract art may open a new way of looking at the world for those who knew nothing about abstraction.
