The Town of Newburgh Minors softball team was eliminated from the District 19 tournament on Saturday morning after suffering an 11-1 loss to Greenwood Lake in Warwick.

Newburgh had been knocked down when they opened the tournament, suffering a 26-10 loss to Minisink on June 25, which sent them to elimination bracket, meaning they needed to be perfect to stay alive.

After three days of rainouts, Newburgh picked themselves off the mat on Thursday with a 22-12 win over Pine Bush at Woodfield in Washingtonville.

They traveled to Montgomery on June 30 for a 10-2 win over Cornwall before facing Greenwood Lake in another elimination game.
