NY Solar 1001, LLC made an initial appearance before the New Windsor Planning Board for a proposed solar farm project.

The proposed solar farm project plans to utilize a 31.5 acre parcel of land in the town located at 354 Mt. Airy Road for a new community solar facility with a proposed 7,000 panels to be installed. The current property is located directly behind current farmland and adjacent to a recreational air-soft field.

Due to present wetlands, the proposed construction of the panels will look to avoid those current wetlands and the applicant proposes wetland restoration that is needed.

The planning board voted that the plans will not be circulated to the Orange County Planning Department as of now but once board comments and an engineer review is in order, the applicant will appear again before the board for more discussion on the project.
