Highland tops Pine Plains
The Highland Huskies got goals from five different players in a 5-2 win over the Plain Plains Bombers on Wednesday at Pine Plains High School.
Sadie Hollifield, Ava Acompora, Raquel Marrieros, Sophie Valentino and Melody Jones all scored for the Huskies. Lyssa Fritche made four saves.
The Huskies beat Ellenville on Oct. 1 at Ellenville High School, 2-0, behind goals by Kaylee Arciuolo and Acompora. Fritche made five saves.

Huskies blanked by Lourdes

The Highland Huskies were shut out, 5-0 on Oct. 1 by the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors in a Mid Hudson Athletic League girls’ tennis match.
Lena Tran was shut out, 6-0, 6-0 by Tiffany Ren and Ella Fuller lost, 6-1, 6-2 at second singles to Ella Bonavoglia. Shrey Golkonda lost her singles match, 6-0,6-1, to Emma Berardis.
Sierra Spinelli and Madie Chaffee and Isabelle Mieth and Lila-Maeve Theriot lost their doubles matches with identical scores of 6-0, 6-1.
The Huskies were edge, 3-2, by the Saugerties Sawyers on Wednesday, getting wins from Tran and Fuller. Tran beat Alayna Van Nosdell, 6-0,6-0, and Fuller beat Hannah Hoyt, 6-1, 6-2.
Golkonda fell, 6-0, 6-1, to Chloe Turnett.
Spinelli and Chaffee and Schoonmaker and Theriot lost in doubles action.
Tran got the Huskies only win in a 4-1 loss to Wallkill on Friday at Wallkill High school. She beat Arianna Jorge Martinez.
Lila Theriot and Golkonda lost their singles matches, while Spinelli and Chaffee and Schoonmaker and Isabelle Mieth lost their doubles matches.

Mount tops Huskies
Cadence Meltz had six digs, Kelcey Whalen had five kills and three digs in the Highland Huskies’ 3-0 loss to Mount Academy on Oct. 1 at Highland High School.

Avery Sosnick had a kill, six assists and an ace. Bethany Childs had five blocks.
The Huskies opened the week with a 3-2 loss to the Wallkill Panthers on Sept. 30.
