Elijah German posted a nine-hole score of 41, leading the Highland boys’ golf team to a 180-229 win over Webutuck on Thursday at Apple Greens Golf Course.

Elijah German posted a nine-hole score of 41, leading the Highland boys’ golf team to a 180-229 win over Webutuck on Thursday at Apple Greens Golf Course.
 
Klayton Demale shot a 44 and Jake Berliner added a 47. Brendan Zeltman added a 48.
 
Marlboro edges Wallkill in tennis
The Marlboro girls’ tennis team won two singles matches in a 3-2 win over the Wallkill Panthers on September 26 at Wallkill High School.
 
Sydney Sladicka beat Arianna Jorge Martinez, 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, and Chloe Gaer posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Anna O’Brien. The Dukes forfeited at third singles to Wallkill’s Katelyn Krupp.
 
Isabella DeSantis and Emma LaPolla shut out Wallkill’s Amy O’Malley and Denisse Martinez. Marlboro suffered its only on-court loss when their second doubles team lost to Zacharia Williams and Miranda Padilla, 1-6, 6-2, 8-10.
 
Wallkill finishes second at Onteora meet
Andie Psilopoulos won the girls’ race at the Onteora Homecoming Quad Meet on Saturday, leading the Wallkill cross country teams to second-place finishes at Onteora High School on Saturday.
 
Mount Academy won both the boys’ and girls’ events, and Onteora finished third.
 
Psilopoulos finished with a time of 21:31.12, and Caitlyn Murphy was third with a time of 21:55.92. Emma DiLemme and Emma Haughian were ninth and tenth respectively, while Gianna Post and Mikayla D’Amico were 24th and 25th.
 
Nathaniel Diemoz finished second to lead the Wallkill boys’ team. Mario Verruto finished right behind him with a third-place finish. Ryder Kilpatrick was 10th and Josh Craypo took 12th. Luke Fragetta finished 19th, while Christopher Pirog and JoAeo Santos were 25th and 28th, respectively.
 
Duke, Huskies  runners beaten
The Highland and Marlboro cross country teams were each swept in their respective dual meets on Wednesday at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton.
 
Onteora beat Highland, 18-43, in the boys’ race, and the FDR Presidents beat Marlboro, 15-50. Onteora edged Highland, 28-29 in the girls’ race, while FDR routed Marlboro, 15-50.
 
FDR’s Tom Hurley won the boys’ race with a time of 18:15, and Onteora’s Maddie Mills won the girls’ race in 22:45.
 
Zachary Haeser was the top finisher for Highland in the boys’ race with a 16th place finish in 20:39. Jordan Reyes took 27th in 22:02 to lead Marlboro.
 
Alex Carey took seventh in the girls’ race with a time of 24:29 to lead Highland, while Marlboro’s top finisher, Andrea Kuha, took 25th in 27:34.

Panthers blank Rondout in volleyball
Kaylee DeGroat had 10 kills as the Wallkill volleyball team beat the Rondout Valley Ganders, 3-0 on Thursday.
 
The Panthers won the match, 25-10, 25-16, 25-13.
Madison Stauss had two kills and 21 assists, and Daniella Aluisio had nine kills and two aces. Olivia Yankanin had five kills.
 
The Panthers increased their record to 8-0.
