Assemblyman Brian Maher (R,C-Walden) introduced Luke Satriano, who is a back-to-back New York state wrestling champion. He is currently an honor roll student at Valley Central High School where he simultaneously reigns as an undefeated three-time Section 9 champion.

In 2023, Luke was a New York state freestyle championship medalist, was named All-American and won back-to-back state titles in 2023 and 2024. He is only the third Valley Central High School wrestler to win two New York state titles in the school’s more than 60-year history.

“We were so lucky to have Luke come up to Albany today and be recognized for all his incredible achievements. He has had a remarkable career already and we wish him the best of luck and wishes for his future competitions.” said Maher.

Luke is currently being recruited by many top D1 college programs throughout the U.S. and will soon be competing in Las Vegas for an opportunity to become a USA World Team member and represent the U.S. in overseas World Championships. With him were his incredible teammates, coach and proud parents.
