Storm King Scree is August 29

A ‘scree’, according to merriam-webster.com, is a geological term for a loose collection of small broken rock fragments, stones, or debris found at the base of a cliff or mountain slope.

New definition, per Cornwall-on-Hudson’s Donahue Farm Committee: a music event. (But organizers also playfully emphasize: “don’t call it a festival”!)

The first annual Storm King Scree is a local live music event taking place on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Donahue Farm in Cornwall-on-Hudson. It will feature a multi-band lineup, food trucks and family activities, as well as food, and drinks with admission by donation.

Performing will be Stumble Street, Spoils System, the Storm King Players and the Frozen Peaz, and there will be a pre-show performance by Gioia Studio music students, “the future of music,” organizers say.

Admission is by donation; proceeds will help cover the cost of the day, including paying the bands, and future upgrades and events at Donahue Farm. You can find out more on Cornwall communities’ various social media pages.

Back to the original definition. Donahue Farm sits at the base of Storm King Mountain … thus, it’s quite literally a scree.
