Three unopposed in Maybrook

Three trustees are running in the upcoming Maybrook election, unopposed, for spots on the village board.

Charles D Woznick is running for trustee for a one year term, while William Giannico and William Treco, Jr are both running for two year terms.

Woznick, who’s whole family is from Maybrook including him, already has a seat on the board which he was appointed for when Deputy Mayor Ron Pritchard retired earlier this year. Woznick considers himself involved for a long time, as he sat on both the village planning and zoning boards. He is also a retired highway superintendent. Woznick is a life member of the fire department, served with the Maybrook Railroad Museum, and was a past village justice. He enjoys serving the public and has goals to address better activities for kids and affordability. Woznick lives in the village with his wife, Jennifer and he has two sons and two stepdaughters.

Giannico is also heavily involved in the community, being a part of the Maybrook Scout Troop 236 and Marching Band for years. Giannico and Treco did not respond for specific comment.

No one has filed a petition for Village Justice, and Associate Village Justice Tina Fassnacht is still holding court.

The Maybrook Village election will take place on March 21 at the Maybrook Senior Center from noon to 9 p.m.
