True Insight celebrates the season

Children and families of the City of Newburgh were invited on Friday, December 22 to take part in the first annual True Insight Inc’s Christmas giveaway for children from the ages of 10 and under. The event took place at Living In Jesus Ministry Inc. at 119 South Street.

During the course of the evening, about 50 to 80 people made their way to South Street and over 200 gifts were given away, along with various foods such as chicken, beef, fish, pork chops, steaks and even fresh fruit to families. Food and produce, other toiletries and supplies were also given away to families as well.

Under the leadership of Deacon Donald Fryar, True Insight Inc is a recognized non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives and well-being of the City of Newburgh’s youth and their families through educational and enrichment programs and to create a positive impact.

Heading into the holiday season, the message that Fryar imparts to others to reflect upon is to be grateful, especially in the presence of others presently and to remember the spirit of humanity.

“When I looked into these children’s eyes and I saw the hope in their eyes and I saw the joy in their eyes, it made life worth living,” said Fryar. “There was no disruptions or anything like that, everything was harmonious.”

Fryar expressed thanks to his organization’s board members, Minister Scott Young, Pastor Malan Francis, Pastor Edward O. Benson, Minister Jerry Roger and Bishop John Williams. Gina Martin, Pastor Jamel Barnes of Living in Jesus Ministry, Shablee Boutique owned by Shablee Mays, Fryar’s daughter, grandson Tyquan Mays and Andre Ralley who brought toiletries to be distributed, were also thanked for their support and presence. Janae Myers and her staff of Independent Living Inc. and Jaime Levato of Fareground, Inc were also recognized for their support as well for the event.
