The Valley Central Vikings were swept by the Washingtonville Wizards on Oct. 8 during an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association cross-country meet.

Joe Mullen won the boys’ meet with a time of 16:54 as the Wizards defeated the Vikings, 17-41, and Alexis Jones won the girls’ race in a time of 19:45 as the Wizards posted a 16-39 win over the Vikings.

Jack Dudzik was the top finisher for the Viking boys as he finished with a time of 18:10. Ashton Ewald (18:21), Pablo Emilo Abdelsayed (18:45), Aiden Restivo (18:53) and Erich Lachmann (19:10) also scored points for the Vikings

Emily Frank was the top finisher for the Viking girls with a fifth-place finish in 22:12.

The Wizards took the top four spots in both races.

Maddy Legare (23:36), Skyla DeMaro (24:26), Callie Campora (24:59) and Grace Burns (25:29) also scored for the Vikings.
