VC falls to Warwick in boys lacrosse

Dylan Butcher scored three goals in the Valley Central boys’ lacrosse team’s 15-11 loss to the Warwick Wildcats on Wednesday at Valley Central High School in Montgomery.

It was the Vikings’ first game since the sudden death of defenseman Tyler Adkins the previous weekend.

“Tyler was a great athlete, teammate and friend to many,” Valley Central coach Tom Stoddard said in a post to the community. “There are no words to describe the heartbreak many on the team and in the community are going through.”

Joey Finn led Warwick with five goals, and Dylan Sullivan scored four goals and registered five assists. Ryan Sullivan added three goals, Matt Sansone had two and Connor Rian added one. Darren Vogt had two assists and Mike Accardo had one.

Luke Solari made six saves and Darren Vogt added four.

Butcher had an assist to go with his three goals, and Kai Hew added two goals. Colin Kinsley, Aaron Goldstein, Bryson Antal, Ben Caterina had one goal each. Connor Stafford had a goal and two assists. Danny Latimer had a goal and an assist. Noah Hoffman and Brody Jurman added an assist each.
Landon Santangelo made nine saves.
Valley Central fell to 9-3.
