The Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League playoffs began on Friday, and the Marlboro Expos have clinched a berth in the 16U Division 4 championship game, which is expected to be played this weekend.

Other teams still alive as of Sunday include: the 14U Marlboro Wildcats and the 10U Marlboro Marlins.

Marlboro Marlins 11, Frozen Ropes Rockies 9

The Marlboro Marlins scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, breaking a tie and pulling out a victory on July 23 at Young’s Field.

The game was tied, 3-3, after the first inning and the Marlins took a 5-3 lead after the second inning. The Rockies tied the game, 9-9, in the top of the fifth inning.

Sticks Northeast 7, Marlboro Marlins 1
The Sticks got on the board in the second inning and scored in every inning but the first on their way to a six-run win over the Marlins on July 24 at Young’s Field in Milton.

The Marlins got their lone run in the fourth inning.

First Round
No. 8 Marlboro Marlins 14, No. 9 Mid-Hudson Tigers 11
The Marlboro Marlins scored five runs in the bottom the fourth inning to defeat the Mid-Hudson Tigers on Friday in a Division 3 Silver playoff game at Young’s Park in Middletown.

The Marlins took a three-run lead after two innings, but the Tigers scored two in the third inning to pull within a run and took the lead in the fourth with three runs.

Marlboro Marlins 12, Hudson Valley Hustle 2
The Marlboro Marlins finished the regular season on July 23 with a doubleheader sweep of the Hudson Valley Hustle at Young’s Field in Milton.

The Marlins finished the first game ahead by one run, put up three runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull out a two-run victory.

The Hustle got on the board first, but the Marlins responded with two runs in the second and added single runs in the third and fourth. The Hustle scored one in the third and three in the fifth.

The Marlins posted an eight-run first inning in a four-inning win in the second game.

The Hustle scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

First Round

No. 8 Croton Tigers 5, No. 9 Marlboro Marlins 2
The Croton Tigers scored four runs in the second inning as they eliminated the Marlboro Marlins on Saturday.

The Marlins scored individual runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

Marlboro Wildcats 4, Naturals White 3

Jackson Sarinsky singled to third base, scoring Pat Tarsio as the Marlboro Wildcats walked off the Northstar Naturals White on July 24.

Sarinsky gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single to right field, but the Naturals scored three in the top of the seventh to take a 3-1 lead.

Colin Weckeman singled to pull the Wildcats to within a run in the seventh, and then Cole Belcastro reached on an error, scoring Alex Cocozza to tie the game.

No. 3 Marlboro Expos 12, No. 2 Cortlandt Nationals 1
The Marlboro Expos broke the game open with seven runs in the seventh inning as they eliminated the Cortlandt Nationals on Friday at Sunset Field in Montrose.

Owen Schlagler had two hits, including a grand slam and four RBIs. Justin Piscopo had a hit and an RBI, while Casey Vogel had two hits and an RBI. Conner Griffin had three hits for the Expos.
