The Morgan Duke Conservation Society would like to remind the community that there have been bear sightings near the Wallkill Valley Cemetery on January 10, 2024, and someone posted on a Facebook group page they spotted a bear on Gladstone Ave in Village of Walden on January 11.

Morgan Duke Conservation Society would like to remind the community to remove bird seed, bird feeders, pet food, or garbage so the bears do not get into these food sources and create more problems. Feed pets indoors.

If you must feed pets outside, feed only single portions and remove bowls as soon as your pet is finished. Keep your dog on a non-retractable leash even if you’re just going to the car.
