Town of Crawford Building Inspector John Calaca remains on administrative leave following his arrest for allegedly brandishing a knife during a December inspection of the new Bullville Firehouse.

Calaca was charged with menacing on December 9 and given an appearance ticket. Crawford police have not responded to a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request for a police report of the incident. Town officials announced at the January 3 re-organization meeting that Calaca was on administrative leave. Mike Grass is serving as acting Building Inspector in the meantime.
