Everyone wins at the Wallkill Easter Egg Hunt

The Wallkill Public Library lawn was full of children on April 8 as they hosted their annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The event was hosted by the Wallkill Lions Club and included colorful eggs scattered across the lawn of the library, an Easter Bunny, and even a brown “lion.” There were no golden eggs, so participants raced to find and retrieve as many eggs as they could to get their goodie bag. These bags included a coloring book, crayons, and some candy and snacks.

All attendees got their own goodie bag.
Ages five and under got a small headstart, but only a few moments later the rest of the children took off with their parents to find the eggs.

The Wallkill Central School District Leo’s Club was also in attendance, volunteering their time to make the event a success. Two students also volunteered to be the Easter Bunny and Lion, both of which were very popular with the children.

Though a bit chilly since the event began at 9 a.m., many locals came out in bunny ears and jackets to celebrate the holiday with some fun.

The Wallkill Lion’s Club is a volunteer-based community organization that is part of Lions Clubs International. They host and sponsor numerous events during the year and can be found at www.facebook.com/WallkillLionsClub.
