Crawford residents, board trustees and Chabad of Orange County members gathered at Crawford Square in Pine Bush last Wednesday, December 7, to celebrate Hanukkah with their annual lighting, illuminating the cold and quiet municipal square with food, music and companionship.
Rivkie Borenstein, rabbi of the Chabad of Orange County, led the lighting and thanked everyone for coming out, giving particular shoutouts to Jessica Kempter, town clerk, and the board trustees for hosting the event.
“We have 20 menorahs all around Orange County, and I have to say thank you, Town of Crawford. They’re one of the towns that I don’t have to call them, they call me,” Borenstein said. “So this is great, we should continue like this. We should all continue to have health, happiness, and light.”
