Maybrook plans Halloween Drive-thru

Posted

With Halloween fast approaching, the Maybrook village board voted unanimously last week to set its annual Halloween curfew.

Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from village streets from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, unless going to or from work or an official school event or medical situation.

In other Halloween news, the village will again sponsor its Halloween drive-thru at the Frederick Myers Veterans Memorial Park 5 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31 (Halloween evening). The event is for children aged 12 and under. You must stay in your vehicle as you drive through, accumulating treats from various participating groups. No foot traffic will be permitted. Mayor Dennis Leahy said last year’s drive-thru attracted the most children ever.

Trick or Treat hours in the village are 6 - 8 p.m. Leave an outside light on if you wish to participate. Parents are encouraged to make sure their children are visible as they walk around the village, with flashlights or reflective clothing.
