PBHS welcomes 97 into National Honor Society

Posted

Pine Bush High School inducted 97 juniors and seniors into its National Honor Society on Sept. 29.
Students were in person for the ceremony at the high school while family and friends could view it live on the district’s website.

Bill McMonigle, a beloved, longtime employee of the district who passed away in May 2020, posthumously received an honorary membership in NHS.

The four tenets of the honor society are character, scholarship, leadership and service.
The criteria for students to be invited for membership in National Honor Society are: achieve a cumulative average of at least 90%; complete 10 or more hours of community service; and demonstrate excellence in leadership and character.

After each inductee was presented, they all recited the National Honor Society pledge:
I pledge to uphold The high purposes of the National Honor Society To which I have been selected;
I will be true to the principles for which it stands;
I will be loyal to my school;

And will maintain and encourage High standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
