Pine Bush Rebels reach finals

The Pine Bush Rebels were the only local Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League team to reach the championship game.

They played in the Gold bracket, the second-tier bracket in the 11U Division 3 division and advanced to the championship game with a 6-5 win over the Croton Tigers.

They were scheduled to face the 10th-seeded Lumberjacks in Sunday’s championship game at Rogers Park in Danbury, Ct.

The Wallkill Wildcats 10U team and 14U Wallkill Panthers were eliminated in their semifinals. The 12U Pine Bush Rebels were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

No 7 Wallkill 10, No. 15 Mahopac Wolves 0
Wallkill scored five runs in the first inning on their way to a 10-run win over the Mahopac Wolves on August 1 in Wallkill.
The game was called after four innings by the 10-run rule after Wallkill scored three runs in the fourth inning.

Semifinals
No. 6 Armonk Bobcats 11, No. 7 Wallkill Wildcats 5
The Armonk Bobcats scored six runs to blow the game open in a semifinal win over the Wallkill Wildcats on Thursday in Armonk.

Armonk scored two runs in the first inning, but the Wildcats responded with one in the second and two more in the third to take the lead. The Bobcats took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning.

The Wildcats scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

No. 5 Pine Bush Rebels White 14, No. 12 Port Jervis Pirates 10
The Rebels advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over the Port Jervis Pirates on July 30 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

The Rebels fell behind 8-1 midway through the fourth inning but scored two runs in the fourth and exploded for 11 more in the fifth inning to secure the victory.

No. 5 Pine Bush Rebels White 6, No. 4 Bryn Mawr Bulldogs 3
The Pine Bush Rebels scored two runs in the second, and two more in the third to take the lead for good in Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup in Bryn Mawr.

The Bulldogs scored single runs in the first, third and fourth innings.

The Rebels tacked on two more in the fifth.

No. 5 Pine Bush Rebels White 6, No. 8 Croton Tigers 5
The Pine Bush Rebels scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, erasing a four-run deficit and clinching a berth in the Gold championship game with a win over the Croton Tigers on Thursday.

They were scheduled to face the Lumberjacks on Sunday morning at Rogers Park in Danbury.

The Rebels scored their first run in the first inning to cut the lead to 2-1, before the Tigers built a 5-1 lead.

Quarterfinals
No. 14 Cortlandt Nationals Blue 6, No. 11 Pine Bush Rebels 4

The Cortlandt Nationals Blue jumped up to a two-run lead after the second inning, and rode that to a quarterfinal win over the Pine Bush Rebels on July 31 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

The Nationals scored two more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth inning.

The Rebels scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. They had 10 hits and made five errors in the field.

14U
D3 Championship

First Round
No. 15 Pine Bush Rebels 10, No. 2 Connecticut Rangers Red 6
Cody Hanson had two hits, including a double, scored two runs and drove in two as the Pine Bush Rebels upset the Connecticut Rangers Red on July 30.

Carlton Hilliard, Cody Vanoyan and Liam Tuttle each had a hit and an RBI.

Quarterfinals

No. 7 Bethel Wildcats 7, Pine Bush Rebels 6, 9 innings
The Bethel Wildcats scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to eliminate the Pine Bush Rebels from tournament play on August 1 in Connecticut.

Liam Tuttle had a hit, two runs scored and one RBI, while Dylan Riker had a hit and two RBIs.

The Rebels led 5-3, entering the bottom of the seventh, but the Wildcats scored two to force extra innings.

The Rebels took the lead in the ninth when Tuttle scored on a wild pitch.

D4 Championship
Quarterfinals
No. 2 Wallkill Panthers 14, No. 10 Pomperaug Black 3
Quincy Rogers had two hits, including a double, three runs scored and two RBIs, as the Wallkill Panthers advanced to the semifinals on July 31 with a win over Pomperaug Black.

Ben Dotort had a hit, a run scored and three RBI, and Troy Fontana had two hits and three RBIs.

No. 3 Westchester Elite 4, No. 2 Wallkill Panthers 2
The Westchester Elite scored runs in the second, third and fourth innings to post a semifinal victory over the Wallkill Panthers at Wallkill Area Little League.

The Panthers scored their only two runs in the fifth inning, despite outhitting the Elite, 9-5.

Bradyn Nicoli had three hits and an RBI. David Vega also had a hit and an RBI.
