John Ramos won a second term as Walden’s mayor on Tuesday night, as his Walden United coalition swept to victory. Ramos, who defeated former Village Justice Gerald Mishk, by a margin of 308 – 271, will be joined on the village board by three trustees who had his backing. Kristie Hall (327 votes), Christopher Batson (308) and Ralph Garrison (299) all won seat on the village board, unseating incumbents Lynn Thompson (292) and Brian Sebring (270) in the process.

Village Clerk Marisa Kraus confirmed the numbers on Tuesday, following a recount of the trustee votes.

In the Village of Montgomery, Steve Brescia, running unopposed, was re-elected, with 461 votes in the process. He will be joined on the village board by Randi Picarello, Executive Director of the Business Council of Greater Montgomery. She led the trustee candidates with 454 votes. Also reelected was Darlene Andolsek with 301 votes. Deputy Mayor JoAnn Scheels was unseated in her re-election bid. She finished third in the voting, with 177 votes.

“I am thrilled for OUR village,” Picarello said. “I am honored to have been chosen to represent the interests, hopes and concerns of the residents of the Village of Montgomery for the next four years. I will be available, responsible and committed every step of the way. Thank you to Joann Scheels for her dedication and service for the last 38 years, and thank you to the 454+ residents of this amazing village for their trust. Here we go!”

Montgomery Village Justice Tina Fassnacht ran unopposed for re-election, with 446 votes.

In the Village of Maybrook, three ran unopposed for village board seats. William Giannico (71 votes) and William Treco (77 votes) were elected to two-year terms. Charles D. Woznick, appointed to the board when Deputy Mayor Robert Pritchard resigned last year, will serve the remaining year of that term. He tallied 74 votes.
