Kingston wins FH title
The Pine Bush field hockey team kept things tight in the first half, but Kingston pulled away in the second half to continue its run of Section 9 Class A titles with a 7-0 win on April 18 at Rondout Valley High School.

Pine Bush held the Kingston to two goals in the first half, but the Tigers exploded for four goals in the third quarter to take control of the contest.

Anna Jages made 15 saves for Pine Bush.

VC volleyball falls to Monroe-Woodbury
Riley Schoonmaker had 15 kills, an ace, a dig and five blocks, but No. 2 Valley Central volleyball team fell in the Section 9 Class AA semifinals, 3-2, to third-seeded Monroe-Woodbury on April 19.

The Crusaders outlasted the Vikings, 25-27, 25-14, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20.

Michelle Delgado added 11 kills and eight digs for the Vikings and Abby Nokland had 10 kills, four aces, six digs and a block. Sarah Congelosi had three kills, three aces and 16 digs, while Haley Nop added 35 assists, a dig and a block.

Wallkill girls reach semis
Lainey Flanagan scored the lone goal in the fourth-seeded Wallkill girls’ soccer team’s 4-1 loss to top-seeded Red Hook in the Section 9 Class A semifinals on Aril 18.

Norah Serrao made four saves for the Panthers (5-3-2) and Madelyn Jachimiak added three.
Red Hook was defeated by No. 2 Minisink Valley in the championship.

Wallkill volleyball teams falls to Minisink
Rylee Thomas had 19 kills, seven digs and two blocks. But the second seeding Wallkill volleyball team was eliminated from the Section 9 Class A semifinals, by a 3-1 loss to No. 3 Minisink Valley on April 19.

Sera Goering had 21 digs, two assists and Grace Mesuch had 25 assists and four digs with two kills for the Panthers, who finished the season, 8-4. Ava Wallingford had six digs, three kills and two aces and Erin Oakes had five kills and two blocks.
